TOURNAMENT RULES
1. HEADQUARTER: Axton's Bass City, south end of FM 2946 bridge on Lake
Fork. We have one of the largest full service marina and motel on Lake Fork.
2. ENTRY FEES: $220.00 per team if registered
by May 28, 2009 (mail) or in
person at Axton's Bass City
until closing on Thursday, May 28, 2009. Mail
registration must be postmarked
no later than May 26, 2009. If you register
by mail, please mail your
check or money order to Axton's Texas Top
Teams, 3021 CR1165, Brashear, TX 75420. All checks must be made out to
Axton's Texas Top Teams. Phone number 903-485-3008. Big Bass Pot is
$20.00 per team (optional). Late entry after May 28, 2009 will be $240.00
per team at the registration site in Emory, Texas
from 5:00 -9:00PM.

3. FORMAT:
The top 15 teams from Saturday's qualifying tournament will
advance to Sunday's competition. Each team on Sunday will fish with an
Official Observer in the boat who will weigh, record and release every bass
which is landed. All bass will be immediatley released back to the lake after
the observer has weighed and recorded the bass. ON SUNDAY ALL BASS
WILL COUNT TOWARD THE FINAL WEIGHT.
4. REQUIRED
CHECK-IN: ALL TEAMS MUST CHECK IN ON FRIDAY MAY
29,2009 BETWEEN 5:00 - 9:00PM IN EMORY, TX., AT THE RAINS
COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF
SH-19 AND US-HWY 69. TEAM NUMBER AND WEIGH-IN SLIPS WILL BE
ASSIGNED AT THIS TIME. TEAMS WHICH DO NOT CHECK IN OR
REGISTER BETWEEN 5:00 - 9:00PM WILL BE INELIGIBLE TO FISH THE
TOURNAMENT. LATE REGISTRATION WILL BE BETWEEN 5:00 - 9:00 PM
AT THIS LOCATION.
5. TOURNAMENT
HOURS: Friday, May 29, 2009 is a practice day and Anglers
must be off the water by 3:00PM. Saturday Tournament Hours: 6:00AM to
2:00PM. Weigh-in lines open at 1:00PM. Weigh-in will be at Axton's Bass
City Boat Ramp. Contestants not in weigh-in line by 2:00PM will be
disqualified.
Sunday Tournament Hours for Final 15 Teams is 6:00AM to
2:00PM. All final 15 Teams will meet at Axton's Bass City at 5:30AM on
Sunday May 31, 2009 to draw for their Official Observers. Contestants may
trailer after all Official Observers have been assigned. All final 15 Teams
must be in the weigh-in line at Axton's Bass City Boat Ramp by 2:00PM with
their Observer. Contestants not in the weigh-in line by 2:00PM will be
disqualified.
6. LIMIT:
OFFICIAL MEASURING BOARD WILL BE THE CHECK-IT-STICK.
Bass will be measured with the mouth closed and the tail squeezed. On
Saturday, May 30, 2009, each team can weigh up to 5 bass, 12"-16" or 4
bass 12" - 16" and 1 bass 24" or greater. NO BASS UNDER 12" WILL BE
WEIGHED ON SATURDAY. ANY TEAM BRINGING IN A BASS BETWEEN
16" - 24" WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. Any dead bass will result in a half
pound deduction per dead bass. The top 15 teams will advance to Sunday's
competition.
7. OFF
LIMITS: Friday, May 29, 2009 at 3:00PM until Saturday, May 30,
2009, at 5:00AM. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 2:00PM until Sunday, May 31,
2009 after all observers have been assigned.
8. TRAILERING:
Trailering on Saturday and Sunday is permitted; however, no
fishing is permitted until official start time. Official Start Times: Saturday
May 30, 2009, 6:00AM; Sunday May 31, 2009, after all Official Observers
have been assigned.
9.
All local, state and federal laws shall be observed. If either member of a
team is ticketed by Game Wardens, it will result in disqualification of the
team.
10. No
person that has served as a guide on Lake Fork since January 1, 2009 or
no person who has fished professionally in 2 or more tournament with an
entry fee of $600 or more since January 1, 2009 may fish this tournament.
11. In
case of a tie, the awards will be combined and equally divided.
12. POLYGRAPH:
All entrants are subject to a polgraph test if requested by
Tournament Officials. Refusal to submit to a polygraph or failure of the test
will result in disqualification.
13. Fishing
is permitted anywhere on Lake Fork excepted restricted areas. All
fishing
must be done from a tournament boat and Anglers may not leave the
boat to land fish.
14. Contestants
will fish two per boat or if need be, only one team member. No
more than one boat per team. No person other than contestants will be
allowed in the tournament boat during tournament hours. On Sunday May
31, 2009, an Official Observer will be assigned to each boat.
15. PROTEST:
All protest must be made in wrtiting within 10 minutes of the
weigh-in. All decisions made by Tournament Officials will be considered
final.
16. Artificial
lures only. Pork baits allowed. Only one rig per person may be
used at one time. No trolling with big motor will be allowed.
